Do I need any experience with After Effects?
None at all. Motion Essentials starts from absolute zero. The first module is entirely focused on getting comfortable with the software so it stops feeling intimidating. This is the course I wish had existed when I started.
How is this different from watching YouTube tutorials?
YouTube tutorials teach you to follow steps. Motion Essentials teaches you to understand why those steps work. So you can apply them to any project, not just recreate the one in the video. Every lesson builds on the last with a clear structure, so nothing feels random or disconnected.
How long will this take me to complete?
There's just under 10 hours of instructional content. Most students complete the full course in 20–30 hours when factoring in practice time. With unlimited access you can go as fast or slow as you need, there are no deadlines.
What software do I need?
You can follow along with any Adobe After Effects version. However i'm using version 24.6.4 so you'll need this version or higher if you want to open any of the included project files. Adobe Illustrator would be a great addition but not essential as I have also provided those files for you too.
